Mobile data technologies are serious competitors of landline data access technologies. The speed that mobile data access technologies can reach competes with the ones of ADSL or CATV networks. For this reason clients from SOHO environment might consider using the mobile network for data connectivity. This is completed by users and POP where there is no landline or CATV networks to offer data services.
Most of the time when SOHO goes for Internet access over 3G networks, the clients do not desire access for only one computer, rather for all the computers in their LAN or other Ethernet enabled devices(i.e. Ethernet video cameras).
Topex Bytton can be used as a replacement for fixed line services, such as Internet, voice and fax provided by Cable, DSL or FTTx networks.
For Internet connectivity Topex Bytton can use GPRS/CDMA/UMTS networks delivering speeds of up to 7.2mbps for download and 2.0mbps for upload. Internet access can be provided to the hosts in the local network by using the integrated 4 port switch or the wireless access point. IP addressing information can be auto-delivered using the DHCP server.
Wireless data transmission can be transmited in a secure manner using varios standards for wireless connections such as WEP, WPA, WPA2, DES, 3DES, AES and TKIP.
The transmission over the WAN interface can be secured using encrypted tunnels(GRE,IPSec,L2TP) and the integrated firewall, which filters both incoming and outgoing connections, refusing the unsolicited ones.
Voice and fax services can be provided using the FXS/FXO ports for voice and FXS port for fax.
