Video surveillance was an application developed since the invention of video cameras. It is a very used application since security is important in all domains.

 

Internet Protocol allows for the video surveillance images to be transferred instantly all over the world. The pictures can be sent to a Video Server in order to store them or can be viewed live by means of a software application or Web browser.

 

There can be problems if the sites that need to be monitored do not have possibility for Internet access using fixed-line DSL or dial-up access. In this case the use of wireless Internet access(GPRS,CDMA,HSDPA) is to be used.

 

Topex Bytton is a bridge between 3G networks and wireless/wired LANs. It is very suitable and can be highly customized in video surveillance applications. Topex Bytton can be instructed to send video packets to a web-server or, optionally can store the data on a USB hard-disk attached to one of the two USB ports available. Other features of Topex Bytton include the possibility to use both USB or Ethernet/WiFi cameras.

 

All the data Topex Bytton sends or receives can be transmited via VPN tunnels and encrypted using industry wide standards, such as IPSec.
